Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has said that in coordination with the relevant government agencies, it continues to monitor developments related to maritime navigation safety and the potential impact on the environment.
"The monitoring is done through an integrated system that includes field monitoring, analysis of satellite data and images," the EA said.
EA said that it raised the level of readiness and completed the necessary precautionary measures, in coordination with the relevant authorities and in accordance with the approved national plans for responding to environmental emergencies.
EA confirmed that, to date, no indicators have been detected that would necessitate raising the level of environmental response. Monitoring and assessment work continues, and any updates will be announced through official channels.
EA called on everyone to obtain information from official sources and to avoid circulating or publishing undocumented news and information, which contributes to enhancing public awareness and ensuring access to accurate and reliable information.
